Hourly readings from the WA Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, via the World Air Quality Index project, on the US EPA index. A station more than three hours behind the others is marked delayed and left out of the headline reading.
What to do at each level
| 0 to 50, Good | Open up the house. |
| 51 to 100, Moderate | Fine for most. Sensitive people, keep an eye on it. |
| 101 to 150, Sensitive groups | Asthma, heart or lung conditions: limit time outside, purifier on. |
| 151 to 200, Unhealthy | Close up. Evaporative cooler off. Purifier on high. |
| 201 to 300, Very unhealthy | Stay in a clean room with the door shut. |
| 301 plus, Hazardous | Follow Emergency WA advice. |

Questions
Why is this different from the DWER website?
DWER shows raw concentrations; we show the US EPA index that the World Air Quality Index project calculates from them. The trend is the same.
Is Perth's air usually good?
Most of the time, yes. The bad days come from bushfires, planned burns and winter wood heaters. Why Perth gets smoky.
