What we collect
- Visit statistics. Google Analytics counts pages viewed, rough location, device and how you found us. It uses cookies. You can block it in your browser or with Google's opt-out.
- Your email, only if you sign up for alerts. It's held by our email provider and used only for those alerts.
- Emails you send us, kept only as long as we need to reply.
- Your area choice for the live reading is saved in your own browser, never sent to us.
Other services
- Air readings come from the World Air Quality Index project (api.waqi.info).
- Photos load from Wikimedia Commons and product images from manufacturers' sites.
- The live camera on the home page is embedded from Windy.com, which says its embed doesn't use cookies or tracking.
- “Where to buy” links pass through a redirect on our site. Retailers may then set their own cookies.
Like any website, these services can see your IP address.
